Relics excellent wooden replica of the French MAT 49 Sub Machine Gun developed by French firearms engineer Pierre Monteil. The original piece was a blowback type.
It is 7.7 pounds empty weight and a 1.3 pound bolt made the gun easy to control and its relatively slow 600 round per minute cyclic rate made 3-4 round bursts into a man-sized target quick to master.
It should be remembered that the French military fought long and hard in Indochina for almost a decade, suffering over 75,000 combat dead. The reliable MAT is seen as an iconic symbol of that conflict in France.
Full size and made from wood with variable positionable wire stock. The pistol grip can now be fixed in the folded up and forward position or in the down as illustrated mode.
The VCR act applies to this item. Modern guns are supplied in a peel off yellow finish unless you belong to a VCR exempt group. Should you subsequently join an exempt group you can simply remove the tape.
The act also requires an 18 year of age or over ID required prior to dispatch. A driving license or passport photo page and a page header from a bill, statement or appointment to prove your address are all acceptable forms of ID.
