Relics quality reproduction WW2 British limpet mine. Wood construction with metal fittings.
The original was placed against the hulls of shipping by means of a 6ft long placing rod (not included) the limpet mine usually contained 2lbs of plastic explosive enough to penetrate the average battleship.
Steel grey finish with burnished bronzed detonator keys. 16" (41cm) long net weight 1.220 kg
This is a close copy of the original type used in many raids against enemy shipping during WW2. Particularly Operation Frankton and The Cockleshell Heros in which 12 British marine commandos canoed into Bordeaux harbour and caused extensive damage.
